Batch Mode

Using Sculptor in batchmode turbocharges your design process. Set up in an iterative loop using your existing analysis tools; add Sculptor to find those elusive shapes that help increase performance based upon the design criteria you establish. It is often the small subtle shape changes that give us the results we are looking for.

The automation of the process using Sculptor as the “turbocharger” allows you to run multiple iterations in a continuous loop until the best solution is found. Each solution is converged from the prior one. This reduces the computing time required per solution.

With Sculptor integrated into to analysis the need to remesh between iterations is reduced significantly, speeding the process up and cutting costs dramatically. More solutions with less draw on scarce resources to produce the best shape for the problem. That’s the advantage Sculptor brings to your process.

Real-time deformation

Sometimes we just want to try something to see what direction that will take our results. Real Time deformations allow the user to manipulate the model manually in real time and then run an analysis on those changes to get an idea of how those changes affect the solution.

Using Optimal Solutions’ Arbitrary Shape Deformation (ASD) technology the user can deform shapes on the meshed model or if they also have the Back2CAD® module they can deform their CAD models in real time as well. This gives the power to the user to take their shapes where they want them to go in real time and with no restrictions. Some people call this direct modeling, we call it smart design.

Meshing Reduction

Sculptor can reduce the need for multiple meshing requirements. As long as cell quality is maintained Sculptor continues to deform the model with excellent results. If cell quality is lost, Sculptor lets you test to ensure you have reached the limits of your mesh quality. This frees up hours of time. Often times many iterations can be analyzed without the need to re-mesh.

Savings

Sculptor does two things very well. First of all it finds the best shape for your design parameters, and secondly it does that in a fraction of the time it would take using traditional methods. Better designs in less time equals maximizing the efficiency of your design/analysis process. This saves your company time and money.
